Background
A U.S. civil rights agency surveyed 1,606 South Koreans, with the results showing that 23% of people found themselves to be victims of sneak shots or videos, which are channelled to the Internet.
93% of the victims had mental illness, and more than 50%
thought of suicide.
In the "Nth room" case, it is estimated that there were up to a maximum of 300, 000 members enjoying the illegal porn filmed by spycam, blackmailing or even false imprisonment. As the investigations go further, there are reportedly up to ten thousand victims.
Pear S
It is a story of a lady pear named S, yet many "pears" had a similar devastating experience. This is the reason we came up with this title for our short film.
The Process
"Women & Body" is a workshop that aims to share stories about women and their bodies. Also, expand the imagination of "body", look at women of different identities and classes, and discuss more cross-cutting issues.
Our group chose the theme of cybersex to create a stop-motion animated story. After sharing our intimate personal experiences around this topic, we started to compose a powerful short story that people can resonate strongly with.

Storyboarding the stories
We wanted to make a story about online sexual exploitation, which as our reaction towards "Nth room" case and surreptitious filming. We made our storyboard and designed our main characters - A pear and a banana, which refer to a victim woman and a criminal man.

The short film was premiered in front of 140 people in a feminist sharing event and received many valuable responses from the audience. We also had a short discussion with the audience about the topic of digital sex crimes.

Premiere "Pear S"
We also exhibited the props as part of the event, intended to show the process of creating and to involve the audience closer to our story.
